LONG Description
Healing from sexual trauma isn't a journey in a straight line. It can feel like crashing off the rocks while you're careening down a roaring river. That's why it can be helpful to have a guide, looking ahead for boulders and finding safe passage through the rapids. If you're struggling with re-experiencing the trauma, carrying the burden of the harm someone caused you, and unsure how to move forward, I can help. Your journey doesn't end with just recovery, I want you to move into sexual health. Feeling safe in your body, owning the right to take up space, and feeling sexy with your partner. I work with survivors of all genders.
I also work with anxiety that gets in the way of normal living. If you're always worrying something bad will happen, seem to get stuck in your head a lot and can't kick negative thoughts, I can help. My work is guided by Cognitive Theory, which examines thought processes that keep you stuck and uses behavioral exercises to challenge and change negative thinking. I also draw from other modalities for grounding, calming, and safely approaching triggering material.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is not an "easy" therapy. It expects a lot from you, not least of which is the determination to face your fears and do the exercises we co-develop between sessions, tailored to your particular anxieties. I can be your guide if you're ready to sail your ship.
