LONG Description
I have one or two appointments available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.
I work with individual adults to figure out why things feel challenging and work out what's going on beneath the surface. I'm skilled in helping those who tend towards overthinking, have emotions that feel out of control, or are tired all the time with no motivation and feeling heavy and sad. Most of my clients experience challenges from the outside too because they are outside the mainstream in terms of identity - things like gender, race, disability, sexual or romantic interests.
In clinical terms, I bring a psychodynamic approach based on attachment and attunement with a light somatic focus.
Big transitions, fear of change, and feeling stuck are my specialty. This includes major losses including pet loss, relationships ending (or starting!), going back to school or graduating, anxiety from everything happening like economic instability and the politics that are so hard. I also have experience with certain less-common experiences such as DID and misophonia.
I work with a lot of queer, trans, genderfluid, nb, and also non-het romantic and sexual orientations such as bi, pan, poly, open, and other non-monagamous connections, kink or fetish, and other ways of expression.
Who you are matters so much to me, because it affects your experiences in the world. I support activists, advocates, and organizers, and understand the specific stress that goes into trying to change the world. I have a PhD with a clinical focus on antiracism and social justice. I have special training to work with you on Zoom and it's an excellent option for this type of therapy. I take some insurance (not Medicaid/Medicare or Partnership, unfortunately), or if you are paying out of pocket, we will discuss a rate that is affordable for you to engage in this work regularly.
