Presented by:

Lisa Wenninger, MA, MBA, NBCC, APCC

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

2 hrs (no CEs)

Course Description

Engagement with your own learning process has been identified as a key factor of resiliency in practicing therapists. What better way to deepen your skills in support your own learning than by teaching others? Our ethical and legal requirements of continuing education and the value of service to the profession can combine in exhilarating ways when we decide to bring our clinical knowledge to our colleagues.

This workshop is for any therapist who has ever wanted to:

  • Offer your expertise to a CAMFT chapter or a conference by providing a continuing education course
  • Find new ways to build your referral network among the therapist community
  • Diversify your business and earn some money as a trainer

Using the student-teacher model, you will learn everything that’s needed to design and develop your own CE-eligible training based on the clinical work that you already love. Come courageous! This course will challenge you to identify your core values and what you’re most passionate about in your clinical work, and hopefully motivate you to become a provider of the high-quality CE training that our therapist community needs.

 Learning Objectives

  1. Apply the characteristics of resilient therapists to the legal and ethical requirements of ongoing professional development.
  2. Define 3 core values in their clinical work they are passionate about.
  3. Transform core values into marketable CE training ideas that meet BBS and CAMFT/CEPA requirements.
  4. Develop action-oriented, measurable learning objectives that engage an audience.
  5. Evaluate learning objectives and course content for diversity and cultural considerations.
  6. Identify at least 2 sources for research-based references to support course content.
  7. Design a balanced CE program with lecture, experiential, and interactive components to support different learning styles.
