Zoom, 4.0 CEs

Course Description

This workshop will review the basics of working with dissociative disorders and plural communities. This information presented will be from a plural positive perspective and multicultural background. Dissociative disorders and plural communities will be discussed, in addition to intersections of other marginalized identities and overlap. This workshop will also explain various skills such as how clinicians can use system maps to improve treatment outcomes for clients. Intersectional identities will be discussed in relation to culturally informed treatment modalities.

Educational Goals

Participants will learn clinical and cultural considerations to be aware of when working with dissociative disorders and the plural community. Participants will participate in experiential activities and apply this information to case examples in order to practice skills learned in this presentation.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Define the dissociative disorders listed in the DSM5.
  2. Identity differential diagnosis related to dissociation.
  3. Define important terms and definitions when working with this population.
  4. List interventions for the beginning of treatment when working with dissociative disorders.
  5. Identify 3 different ways of system mapping.
  6. Develop therapeutic interventions through the use of system mapping.
  7. Select the best way to have their clients create system maps during in-person therapy and via telehealth.
  8. Apply this information to two case examples during an experiential activity in order to practice skills learned in this presentation.

    Registration

    Training Schedule and Attendance Requirements

Please note, this is a 4.0-CE training, comprised of four hours of training, a 15 minute break in the middle, plus time for RECAMFT announcements in the meeting. You must be logged on at the beginning of the training, be present during the event (including responding to attendance checks by coming on camera, verbally replying, and/or replying in the chat), and stay logged on for the full duration, to end at 1:30 pm, in order to earn the CEs. If your camera is off the entire time, and RECAMFT cannot verify you were physically present at your computer throughout the training, then RECAMFT cannot issue a CE certificate, as we would not be able to show that the BBS requirements for your participation were met.
