"From Shame to Intimacy: Helping Clients Build Connections in a Burnt Out World" with David Khalili, LMFT
Course Description
This 2-hour workshop will equip therapists with essential tools to guide their clients toward deeper connection. The training will explore strategies for identifying needs and pleasure, fostering comfort in discussing sex, and collaboratively creating new sexual expectations. This training integrates a biopsychosocial approach to assessing sexual concerns with relational interventions, empowering mental health professionals to effectively support clients navigating intimacy in today's demanding world. Participants will enhance their clinical skills and help clients move from shame to authentic intimacy.
Educational Goals
This workshop will equip therapists with strategies to help clients' gain access to their needs and pleasure, apply a biopsychosocial approach to sexual concerns, and integrate relational interventions for navigating intimacy in a demanding world.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify at least three strategies for assessing clients' needs and pleasure within the context of intimacy and sexual wellness.
- Apply three biopsychosocial approach to the assessment of sexual concerns in their clinical practice.
- Integrate two relational interventions to support clients in navigating intimacy challenges in a demanding world.

David Khalili, LMFT
David F Khalili, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist, board-certified sexologist, and founder of Rouse Relational Wellness, a boutique couples and sex therapy center in San
Francisco. He’s authored Mental Health Workbook for Men and Sex Worriers: A Mindfully Queer Guide for Men’s Anxiety to Sex and Dating to enhance men's relationships with themselves and others.

Within a week after the conclusion of this educational event, once RECAMFT has reviewed attendance, an email with a link to the evaluation form will be sent to all participants whose physical presence during the meeting is verified. Once you complete and submit your evaluation, you will have immediate access and be able to print or save your CE Certificate. This course meets the qualifications for 2.0 hrs of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
