LONG Description
My therapy approach is client centered and relational and helps to resolve childhood and adult traumas, decrease stress, lessen grief, clear phobias, free creativity and enrich relationships. I believe that therapy is a joint effort and a relational process. You will provide the material and we will work together to help you heal old or stuck emotions, beliefs and behaviors that impact your life today.
Through your work in therapy, you can change negative beliefs to positive self concepts, find humor and change unwanted behaviors. I will witness, accompany and guide you on your journey.
My professional life is dedicated to helping people heal from trauma and I have specialized training, knowledge, and experience working with people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Rape Trauma Syndrome and other types of trauma such as car accidents, divorce, and grief. I use EMDR, hypnotherapy, art, and talk.
Since I have a background as a college math and English teacher, and as I love teaching, I supervise Marriage and Family Therapy Interns and trainees who see clients in a non-profit agency at the affordable fee of $40 - $75. I also offer workshops on trauma for professionals. I have been licensed and practicing as a therapist since 1985.
