Course Description         


Join CAMFT Executive Director Joy Alafia, CAE, for an understanding about events, legislation, and internal association processes that are currently impacting CAMFT members.


If you register to access the recorded version of the event, we expect that the CAMFT recording will be made available to you within 2 business days after the "live" event is held, and you will have access for 21 days only. You will need to watch the recording in that availability timeframe. After you have watched the program in full, you will need to contact therapy@recamft.org to request instructions for completing the post-test and course evaluation in order to receive the CEs.

  • Pre-Licensed RECAMFT Members: $12
  • Licensed RECAMFT Members and other CAMFT members: $15
  • Non-Members/General Admission: $18


Educational Goals

Designed for Mental Health Professionals, this 90-minute recorded program will discuss general CAMFT issues and priorities. There will also be updates on Medicare, the BBS, license portability, as well as California legislative updates. Finally, discussion on why it is important to avail yourself of the Legal Consultation service CAMFT provides.


Learning Objectives

After this program, participants will be able to:

1) Recall at least 3 recent/pending legislations and how marriage and family therapists may be impacted by the bills.

2) Identify 1 resource for legal consultation for therapists

3) Identify y 1 change on the horizon on how MFTs work in today’s world


Continuing Education credits

You are eligible for 1.0 CEs by attending either the "live" event on Zoom in full, OR viewing the recorded program, but not both. If you register for this recorded version, you will get an email when the recording is available.  After you watch the recording, you will need to contact therapy@recamft.org for instructions to complete the speaker evaluation, a post-test, and get the link to download your CE certificate.


About Speaker

Joy Alafia, CAE brings more than 17 years of association leadership experience to her new position. She begins her new role at CAMFT after her tenure as the President and CEO of the Western Propane Gas Association (WPGA), where she has advocated for renewable propane and equitable access for alternative sources of clean energy. Joy has spoken around the world about the importance of sustainable energy and is credited with transforming the propane industry’s focus and shifting its priorities to the commercialization of net zero-carbon energy solutions.

Prior to her work at WPGA, she served as the Director of Business Products for the California Association of Realtors®, where she created innovative partnerships and business solutions for industry practitioners.


This registration is to receive a link to the recording that will be made of the presentation that is being held on Zoom on October 11th. This link to the recording will be emailed to registrants in two business days after the event (depending on when CAMFT publishes it to us). The recording will be available to view for 3 weeks only. We will not be able to extend the date for when the recording is available.

Redwood Empire Chapter CAMFT is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (Provider #57173) to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. Redwood Empire Chapter CAMFT maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

    • CE Certificate: You must view the entire recorded presentation, then email RECAMFT for instructions on taking the post-test and submitting the course eval.  Once you complete and submit your evaluation, you will have immediate access and be able to print or save your CE Certificate. This course meets the qualifications for 1.0 hrs of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
