Training Schedule and Attendance Requirements

The 1.5-CE training starts promptly at 10:00am and ends at 11:30am. Please arrive at 9:30am to allow time for registration. You will need to be physically present for the entirety of the training, as confirmed by sign-in and sign-out sheets, in order to qualify for the CEs. Those whose attendance is confirmed will receive a course evaluation by email one week after the event. Once that is submitted, a CE certificate will be issued.

About Our Speaker - Dr. Robin Zasio


Dr. Robin ZasioDr. Robin Zasio, Psy. D., LCSW  is a featured doctor on the Emmy Nominated A &E hit series HOARDERS, Host of "My Extreme Animal Phobia" on Animal Planet, and author of THE HOARDER IN YOU: How to Live a Happier, Healthier, Uncluttered Life Dr. Zasio is well-known for her work in the community, in addition to traveling across the country providing education regarding proper treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders, and helping to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions.

Dr. Zasio has been specializing in treating OCD, anxiety disorders, and related conditions for the past 20 years utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention techniques. After developing a thriving private practice, she developed The Anxiety Treatment Center in 2005, and later, The Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center and The Compulsive Hoarding Center, all located in Sacramento, CA, which she currently owns and directs.

Dr. Zasio continues to maintain her private practice providing individual, group and family therapy services, in addition to supervising interns who are learning to treat anxiety disorders.  Dr. Zasio was the President of the Sacramento Valley Psychological Association from 2003-2005 and currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board, Clinical Advisory Board, and the Speakers Bureau for the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF), and is a faculty member for their Behavior Therapy Training Institute.   In 2010, she developed OCD Sacramento Foundation, an affiliate office of the IOCDF.   Dr. Zasio is on the Advisory Board for the Sacramento Chapter of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill where she writes a “Doctor’s Column” for their monthly newsletter. She is a member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, American Psychological Association, Trichotillomania Learning Center, and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. 

Course Description

Hoarding Disorder is a condition that requires skill and training to address the complexities that arise in working with individuals who are struggling with the excessive acquisition of items and the difficulty letting go. The result can be devasting to both the individual who experiencing these difficulties, and also to their loves ones and even the community.

This presentation will discuss an understanding of the etiology of Hoarding Disorder, comorbid diagnoses, treatment strategies, understanding the stages of change, and how to support loved ones who are impacted. Time for Q&A will be allotted.

Educational Goals

This course will identify treatment strategies for clients struggling with Hoarding Disorder, and the stages of change that therapists can be aware of in working with such clients.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
  • Identify the diagnosis of Hoarding Disorder and co-morbid diagnoses.
  • Describe how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention can help clients struggling with Hoarding Disorder.


Redwood Empire Chapter CAMFT  (Provider #57173) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. Redwood Empire Chapter CAMFT maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

  • Refunds: Refunds may be requested up to 7 days before the event by contacting therapy@recamft.org. No refunds are given beginning 7 days prior to the event. If a member cannot attend the event due to a mandatory evacuation or Public Safety Power Shut-off the day of the event, they can request and receive a refund with verification of address.
  • CE Certificate: You must be physically present for the entirety of the training, and complete the sign-in and sign-out logs at the beginning and ending of the training in order to verify your attendance in full. After the event, those participants who were confirmed to be in attendance for the entirety of the training will be emailed a course evaluation which you will submit online. Completing the evaluation will give you immediate access and be able to print or save your CE Certificate. This course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hrs of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Notice of Recording: Whenever possible, our CE events are recorded or filmed and may appear on our website. As of this time, we are not planning on recording the training, however photos or videos may be taken during the event as a whole. Your participation in this event by registering and attending indicates your approval for your likeness to appear in a recording, if any.
