Course Description
This two-hour presentation will provide an overview of the laws and regulations applicable to pre-licensees as they work toward licensure in marriage and family therapy. Topics to be discussed include the marriage and family therapy licensing process, supervised experience requirements for applicants, supervisor qualifications and supervision requirements, licensing examinations, and common employment issues pre-licensees encounter with their supervisors. This course will also discuss the recent changes to MFT licensing laws as set forth in AB 93 and AB 2138.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to identify the requirements for counting hours toward licensure Participants will be able to analyze any currently applicable waivers issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to identify how they apply to pre-licensees
- Participants will be able to state the number of hours and the number of weeks of supervised experience pre-licensees are required to meet
- Participants will be able to identify how the new 90-day rule pertaining to post-degree hours differs from the “old” 90-day rule
- Participants will be able to identify appropriate work settings and common labor issues that arise in the employment of pre-licensees

You are elligible for 2 CEs from either the live event OR the recording, but not both. If you do not need CEs this event is free to attend. After the event you will receive an e-mail with the speaker evaluation, a post-test, and a link to download your CE certificate.

Refunds: $10 cancellation fee for refunds requested up to 30 days before the event. No refunds are given beginning 29 days prior to the event. If a member cannot attend the event, due to a mandatory evacuation or Public Safety Power Shut-off the day of the event, they can request and receive a refund with verification of address.

CE Certificate: You must attend the entire presentation and complete a post test and an evaluation to receive your CE credit certificate. At the conclusion of this educational event, after confirming attendance, an email with a link to the test and evaluation form will be sent to all attendees who registered for CEs. Once you complete and submit your evaluation, you will have immediate access and be able to print or save your CE Certificate. This course meets the qualifications for 2.0 hrs of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
